Brookshire Residence and Rehabilitation Center is celebrating five decades of service to the community with events for healthcare providers and the public. The 50th Anniversary event also marks the completion of extensive renovations to the center to improve the lives of residents and staff.
Updates to the building include a dedicated post-acute unit specializing in caring for higher acuity patients. The program is specifically designed to assist patients requiring skilled nursing services to transition home quickly. Other changes include a new therapy gym with state-of-the-art equipment, beautifully remodeled resident rooms, and redesigned common areas.
On Tuesday, January 26th, a Healthcare Provider Party will be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm for physicians, case managers and other members of the local medical community who have supported Brookshire Residence and Rehabilitation Center. Attendees will enjoy “Grab & Go” CEUs, tours of the newly renovated facility, catered food and drinks, soft music, free limo service to the event, and complimentary valet service.
There will be a free Community Celebration and Barbecue open to the public on Saturday, January 30th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The event will feature award-winning country music singer, Bobby D. Sawyer. In addition to opening remarks by Mayor Eric Scott, a rope cutting ceremony with the local Chamber of Commerce, there will be activities for all ages, including a special “Fitness for Life” exercise class for adults 55+, activities for kids, and door prizes.
